Lunch and Food Policies
Healthy foods are a main part of what helps brains to function properly throughout the day. We will encourage all students to eat a healthy, well rounded snacks, and lunch while they are with us each school day.
Students get to help decide the lunch menus, and volunteer in the lunchroom weekly
At Iris Valley we understand that healthy food is important, and so is learning how to prepare it. Each day a different grade will be asked to help decide what should be served.
Lunch menus will be planned one week prior by students and staff so that shopping can be done.
To be able to offer high quality, mostly organic foods school lunches will have a fee attached, of no more than $60/month/student.
As a school we will strive to keep the meals as allergen free as possible, so that everyone can enjoy each meal.
Eating school lunch, while encouraged will never be required. If a student chooses to bring lunch from home it will be expected to meet current USDA meal standards.
Meals will be planned by these classes on a weekly bases.
