April showers bring May flowers, but around here we have had a fairly calm month so far. Now that I am *mostly* done with Girl Scout Cookie Season (my troop did great) it is time for me to turn my attention back to building this wonderful school.
Legal fees update
I am excited to announce that we are over the half way fundraising mark in being able to hire the attorney from Lewis and Clark College Small Business Law Office with only about $750 left to raise. Thank you to those who have already donated. If you have not had an opportunity to do so please consider do so soon. Any, and all amounts are excepted.

Our raffle will be starting soon. We have had a couple of donations already. If anyone has any new items, or money that they would like to put toward this event please email irisvalleycharter@gmail.com for more information on how to get that done. Tickets will be $5.00 each, and go on sale Monday May 8th at 10:00 am and continue to be available until Monday May 15th at 7:00pm. To purchase a ticket please do so on our website https://irisvalleycharter.wix.com/ivcs
when the coordinator receives your payment they will send pictures of your raffle tickets to your email address with in 2 days. All tickets will be emailed in the order they are purchased. Those are your tickets for the raffle.
The winning ticket will be drawn at 6:30pm on Tuesday May 16th. The winner will have 48 hours to contact the coordinator. If the winner does not contact the coordinator within 48hrs of the drawing another ticket will be drawn.
Student Count
In order to qualify for charter status in Oregon we must have at least 25 students registered when the school opens. There is a poll on the Iris Valley Charter School Facebook Group where parents can select which grade their child will be going into in September 2024. Thank you to those that have already let us know how many children from their household, and what grades will be attending when the school opens. For those that are not connected to the Facebook group, you may email the information using the link above.
Summer Camps
One of our company sponsors, The Helpful Teacher LLC. is offering summer camps in July and August this summer. They have agreed to make 2 of those weeks about Iris Valley! August 21-September 1 is Iris Valley Summer Institute. This will give us all a opportunity to let the students get to know each other, get a feel for how the days will run, and let the students get in gear for the school year. This camp is also being offered at a special rate of $150 for one week full day, or $300 for two weeks full day.
The Helpful Teacher LLC. will also be donating some of the profits made from all of their summer camps to Iris Valley.
In addition to our summer institute there are also camps for children ages 3-11 years offered both full and half day sessions. Half day sessions are $100 a week, Full Day sessions are $200 day week.
